Homemade Chili Powder:

Chili Sauce:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 red capsicum/bell pepper, finely chopped
- 500g/1 lb ground beef/beef mince
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 400g/14 oz canned crushed tomato
- 2 beef cubes
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 3/4 tsp cooking/kosher salt, plus more to taste
Chili Dogs:
- 6 good smoked sausages or hot dogs
- 6 hot dog buns
- 1/2 white onion, finely chopped
- Yellow mustard
- 2 cups Colby or Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- Plain crinkle-cut potato chips (optional)
Instructions
- Chili Sauce: Heat oil in a pot, sauté onion, garlic, and capsicum. Add beef, cook until browned. Stir in tomato paste, spices, crushed tomato, water, beef cubes, and salt. Simmer for 3 hours.
- Chili Dogs: Preheat oven. Brown sausages, assemble in buns with mustard, onion, chili sauce, and cheese. Bake until cheese melts. Serve hot with chips.
