This easy beef stir-fry recipe with a flavorful 3-ingredient sauce is a quick and delicious meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Tender strips of beef are stir-fried with a colorful mix of vegetables and coated in a simple yet tasty Asian BBQ sauce.

Ingredients for Beef Stir-Fry:

  • 1 lb Top sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 medium yellow zucchini, sliced on the diagonal
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced or pressed
  • 1/2 Tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 3 Tbsp Oil to Saute

Ingredients for Asian BBQ Sauce:

  • 3 Tbsp original BBQ Sauce
  • 3 Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: Stir together the 3 sauce ingredients and set aside.
  2. Cook the Beef: Heat a large heavy pan or wok over high heat and add 1 Tbsp oil. Sautee beef until nearly cooked through. Season with salt, pepper, ginger, and garlic.
  3. Combine with Veggies: Cook mushrooms until golden, then add onions and veggies. Stir fry until soft and golden.
  4. Finish the Stir-Fry: Combine vegetables with beef, add more sauce to taste, and stir fry until hot. Serve over rice.

Notes

  • If using a sweet BBQ sauce, the dish will be sweeter.
  • This recipe can also be made with pork strip loin or tenderloin.
  • Use a high smoke-point oil like extra light olive oil, avocado oil, or canola.
