For the Batter:
- 6 Tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1–2 Tablespoons coarse sugar for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and place the butter in a baking dish to melt.
- Make the batter: Whisk dry ingredients, add wet ingredients, and mix until smooth.
- Assemble: Spread cherries over melted butter, pour batter over the top, and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake: Bake for 55–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Cool and serve: Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

- Do not prepare the cobbler ahead of time to avoid texture issues.
