Main Meatball Ingredients:
- 1 pound 80% lean ground beef (could sub with half ground pork)
- 1 large egg , beaten
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 3/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh Italian flat leaf parsley , optional
Optional Serving:
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- cooked noodles
- grated parmesan cheese
- fresh basil or parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
- Mix the meatball ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, cheese, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and parsley.
- Form meatballs: Use a medium cookie scoop or spoon to form the mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake the meatballs uncovered for 17 to 20 minutes until they are no longer pink in the middle, turning them halfway through to avoid browning the bottoms.
- Optional Serving: Simmer meatballs with marinara sauce if desired for 10 minutes. Serve over cooked noodles and top with parmesan cheese and herbs.

- For frying meatballs, cook in a pan with oil over medium-high heat for 7 to 10 minutes, flipping occasionally.
