Description

These Hot Honey Air Fryer Chicken Tenders are a perfect blend of sweet and spicy, with a crispy cornflake coating. Easy to make and perfect for a quick weeknight dinner!


Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips

Egg wash

  • 1 large egg
  • splash of water

Cornflake breading

  • 2 cups crushed cornflake cereal
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Hot honey

  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 34 Tbsp hot sauce (your favorite brand)

Miscellaneous ingredients

  • cooking oil spray (avocado oil preferred) for the air fryer
  • minced fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare – Add cornflake cereal to a resealable plastic bag and crush. Whisk egg and water in a bowl. In another bowl, mix cornflake crumbs with seasonings. Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Bread chicken – Coat chicken in egg wash, then in cornflake mixture. Place on a plate.
  3. Air fry – Spray air fryer basket, add chicken tenders, and air fry at 400°F for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Make hot honey sauce – Melt butter in a saucepan, add honey and hot sauce, simmer.
  5. Drizzle and serve – Drizzle tenders with hot honey sauce, garnish with parsley, and serve.

Notes

  • This recipe makes 10 chicken tenders, serving 4-5 people.
  • Store-bought hot honey can be used as a shortcut.
  • For oven directions, bake breaded tenders at 400°F for 20-23 minutes.
