A delightful and easy dessert recipe for Quick Maple-Grilled Bananas that combines the sweetness of ripe bananas with cinnamon, maple syrup, and caramelized pecans, served with a dollop of natural yoghurt or coconut yoghurt. A simple yet impressive dish perfect for any occasion.

Bananas:
- 4 ripe bananas
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
Caramelized Pecans:
- 1/4 cup pecan nuts, chopped
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
To Serve:
- 4 tablespoons natural unsweetened yoghurt or coconut yoghurt
Instructions
- Preheat the grill: Preheat the grill to 200°C/390°F or on high. Line an oven tray with baking paper for easy cleanup.
- Prepare the bananas: Trim the stalks of the bananas, cut them in half lengthways, and arrange them cut-side-up on the prepared oven tray. Sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with maple syrup. Grill for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
- Caramelize the pecans: Toast the pecan nuts in a dry frypan over medium heat. Add maple syrup and stir until caramelized.
- Serve: Place two grilled banana halves on a plate, top with caramelized pecans, and serve with a dollop of yoghurt.
Notes
- The combination of bananas, cinnamon, maple syrup, and pecan nuts is delicious.
- Coconut yoghurt complements the flavors well, but Greek yoghurt or ice cream can also be used.
