Basil Strawberry Syrup
- 10 leaves basil, roughly torn
- 10 strawberries (about 5.5 ounces/155g), chopped
- 3 tablespoons (36g) organic sugar
- 3/4 cup (180ml) water

- 3 lemons, juiced (about 1/3 cup/80ml)
- 4 cups cold water (960ml)
- Ice
- 5 extra sliced strawberries for pitcher
- Basil for pitcher
Instructions
- Basil Strawberry Syrup: In a small pot, combine all the ingredients for the strawberry basil syrup. Bring to a rolling simmer over low heat and then let it cook for another 10 minutes. Strain the syrup and set it aside to cool for about 5 minutes.
- Preparing the Lemonade: In a large pitcher, squeeze the juice of 3 lemons. Slice the lemons and add them to the pitcher. Add the strawberry basil syrup, cold water, and ice. Mix well.
- Finishing Touches: Add sliced strawberries and extra basil to the pitcher. Serve the lemonade over ice, adding fresh fruit to each serving.
